The Advancement Collaborative
As we travel the county and have the chance to visit clients and enjoy their beautiful and vibrant communities, we thought it would be nice to share with our clients some things about our community. Tiffin, Ohio serves as the operations and service center for The Advancement Collaborative (TAC), and we take great pride in the quality of life that enables us to better serve our clients.
Welcome to Tiffin, Ohio---the welcome mat is always out.
Tiffin, Ohio, is the county seat of Seneca County in northwest Ohio; it’s centrally located within 1 ½ hours of Cleveland, Columbus and Toledo. The Sandusky River flows through Tiffin on its way to Lake Erie, 40 miles to the north. The population numbers just under 18,000 according to the 2010 US Census.
Tiffin’s history has roots in the War of 1812, as Fort Ball was located within the city’s current boundaries. Settlers from the eastern United States and immigrants from Germany, Ireland and Italy brought growth, adding manufacturing facilities and agricultural development in the surrounding countryside. In the late 1800s and beyond, glass manufacturing brought prominence to the area with the famed “Tiffin Glass.”
Some landmarks in our community:
Since 1850, Heidelberg University has offered students a strong liberal arts education. Currently more than 1,200 students study at the school, which brings together new facilities in a beautiful historic campus.
